An emission metric is an estimate of a quantity of pollutant emitted within defined geographic, temporal, sectoral, and/or procedural boundaries. Air pollutant inventories, including those found in this Portal, typically feature the following parameters: Place (country or state/province/territory); Year (or range of years); Pollutant (or pollutant family); Source Category (or subcategory); and Estimation Methodology. Note: Fuel (another key parameter) is not included at this time, because it is not well-defined in the available inventories.
